Within this scenario, the dissemination of results is a pivotal instrument. The Conference has an interdisciplinary approach, envisaging the participation of architects, engineers, archaeologists, historians, geographers, geologists, cartographers, experts in design, restoration and history of architecture, tourism and communication of cultural heritage, and heritage managers. The idea is to foster the development of a collaborative, integrated, and up-to-date vision that takes research on this topic to the highest level and brings it into the 21st century. Fortifications in the Mediterranean Sea will be the main focus of investigation, but without excluding countries from other continents with built fortifications (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Panama...).
